There is not much to say about this as I didn't design it. Go here for schematics, design notes, suggested parts etc:

The BUF634U buffers are surface mount so are on the bottom of the PCB. I used a Hammond case and Solarfilm from a model shop to cover it which gives it the shinny look.

Sourcing the parts cheaply was tricky though, this is a summary of the costs and were I got the parts:

Description Qty ID Source Cost in $NZD
3.3 µF 50V+ metalized polyester box cap 2 C4 Tangent $14
Long-life electrolytic capacitor, radial (I chose Elna Starget Audio capacitors) 2/4 C2/C3
$32
10pF NP0 ceramic, 0.1" pitch, radial 1 C6 Local eg. DSE, Jaycar $1
Texas Instruments TLE2426CLP ("rail splitter") 1 TLE2426 RS Componets $9
Op-amp OPA227PA , dual 1 OPALR Tangent $25
Op-amp OPA2227P , single 1 OPAG Tangent $12
BUF634P DIP-8 buffer 3 U3 Tangent $25
PIMETA PCB     Tangent $12
